Final Year Fees Free

The Government has announced that final-year Fees Free will end at the end of December 2026.

The Tertiary Education Commission has confirmed that further details and specific arrangements are still being worked through. We will share more information for students as soon as it becomes available.

If you are completing your qualification in 2026

Your eligibility is not changing. The Tertiary Education Commission has confirmed that learners completing an eligible qualification or programme in 2026 can apply for their final-year Fees Free entitlement within 12 months of completion, up to 31 December 2027.

If your final year of study falls in 2027 or later

The Government has indicated that final-year Fees Free will not continue beyond 2026.  

Specific arrangements for students in this position are still being worked through, and we will update you as soon as we have further detail.
